“I Just Called To Say …”
In reality, I did just call to say “I love you.” I didn’t realize how silly it must have sounded to the girl taking down the note (assuming she got the reference)

“Tiny Prints”
My first major in college was photography. I was addicted to both night photography and small prints. It’s not a new idea, but the change of atmosphere in the moments and places captured by a lens at night are so different from the daytime. My photo teacher hated the tiny (3×5″) prints but I couldn’t stop. All things small, I adore. Prints that fit in the palm of your hand are special and cute and delicate and worthy of being treasured.

“Room 201″
A collection of keys. Most are from odd jobs I have worked throughout my life. Most notable is the John Deer front loader key (not seen in photo) from when I worked at Tampa Bulk Services. The Ambers Hotel key was found at Starbucks.

“Last Name: The Visual Test”
Carey was testing out the various last name options in her moleskine. She has still not decided what she wants to do but I’ve told her that I will support whatever decision she makes.

“Post-it Substitute”
We must have been out of post-its on this day. Have a good monday
Additional note. I’m pretty sure I STILL owe her that dinner. I’m afraid to cook.

“Acoholic Beverages Prohibited”
In July of 2009, Carey and I went on our very first camping trip together at Big Foot Beach State Park, Lake Geneva, WI. We melted our percolator, got rained on and eaten alive by mosquitos. We also drank local beer (secretly) in the dark, huddled together in our tent. It was amazing.

“A Couple Hundred Wishes”
As a gift when we started dating (my birthday? Christmas?) Carey gave me a jar, stuffed full of wishes written on tiny pieces of paper. Some examples are: have 85 more birthdays, city nights, be greeted with a bear hug and belong

“Crumpled Foil”
A piece of foil I never got around to throwing out. Now that all television has gone digital are the days of wrapping your television antenna with foil gone for good? Sad. I suppose I’ll just have to use it for a craft project.

“Packet”
A small paper packet. It contains something. I have no idea what is inside. I have kept this for over two years and never thought to open it. I believe it may be a button. I just like the idea of small packets with treasures inside.
