Crazy farm

It’s 5am, cold outside and I’m waiting for the bus. In an attempt to take my mind off the chill, I figure I could write something about these last few days.

Friday was a blur. Indeed the night before I sat down with a six pack of Budweiser and watched a movie on netflix but I’m not sure either of those things equals an excuse for having slept (or at least stayed) in bed until 3pm.

Yesterday was ALSO a blur but unlike Friday, the blur was born on the wings of bringing home a new (2nd) dog and hosting a little backyard barbecue with Igor, our Macedonian neighbor as well as Nick and Steven.

So yes. We now have two dogs and one cat. With the addition of a child or two in the next few years, I’ll be well on my way to one BIG, happy family.

Meet Belle. Our new foxhound. She’s admirably calm for being 1.5yrs old but I do have to wonder if she’s playing us for a fool at least these first few days.

I can tell already that the most difficult part of having two dogs will be how to love them equally but I suppose like with children, it should come naturally.

Because really, how could one NOT love this giant puddle of affection equally?!

Lost. One profile at a time.

After reading a tweet about the number of social sites one twitter user (my fiancĂ©) subscribed to, I thought to do a little looking into my own online portfolio. What I discovered was… I was an addict.

Each new social tool (phenom) I discover, I end up with multiple accounts. Myspace? I’ve got four. Blogs? Five. and that’s after closing a number of old, unused ones. I’ve got a Facebook page, three accounts on Virb, a few Flickr accounts, four websites, nine (or more) email addresses, two Deviantart accounts and four Twitter accounts. And those are only the ones I can remember (or at least update on a semi-regular basis). I’m sure with a little research, I could dig up a multitude of old, dusty profiles from various matchmaker websites that i never closed but I’m not necessarily in a hurry to revisit that portion of my life.

The irony here is, even with ALL of these tools available, I’m still a very difficult person to get in touch with. I have trouble responding to emails, I don’t tweet-back enough, I don’t update very often… so what does this say about me?

In my defense, a number of the email addresses are ‘attached’ in some way or another to the websites I run. And quite regularly I set up additional accounts for the projects I start. But why I need four twitter accounts is beyond me.

Although part of me wonders if I’ll end up missing some vital piece of information or losing touch with friends I no longer chat with in a regular basis, I think it’s time to clean up my act. It’s time to unsubscribe.

Unsubscribe.
